Assistant Manager (20 hours/week)
We're seeking a self-starter who is detail-oriented and can take unsupervised ownership of assigned shifts and duties. Your weekly schedule:
This schedule is non-negotiable and requires a commitment of at least 6 months. Duties include customer service, recruiting, staff schedule management, onboarding & training, and general facility operations.
Mondays, 6:15 AM - 2:45 PM
Wednesdays, 6:15 AM - 10:15 AM
Fridays, 6:15 AM - 10:15 AM
Saturdays, 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Support Staff (12 hours/week)
Duties include: checking classes in, maintaining studio cleanliness (cleaning mats, restocking towels, cleaning the practice room floor, cleaning bathrooms & showers), answering customer questions (in person & on the phone).
Substitute Yoga Teacher Unity Yoga offers Alignment-Based Vinyasa classes. Applicants must have completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance accredited Vinyasa training program, and have at least 50 hours of professional group, mixed-level teaching experience in a studio setting. Teachers with fewer than 50 hours of professional group teaching experience will not be considered and may instead consider our Apprenticeship. Unity Yoga substitute teachers are timely, professional, invested in ongoing continuing education (especially with regard to anatomy and biomechanics) and have high attention to detail. Must have weekend availability.
Teaching Assistant (unpaid)
This role is designed for those hoping to teach classes professionally. If you are a recent graduate of a 200-hour Teacher Training and have limited experience teaching a public group class in a yoga studio setting, working as a teaching assistant will help develop your "classroom management" skills. Duties include: participation in a monthly teachers' meeting, assist 2 yoga classes weekly, communicate directly with class participants about injuries or other relevant conditions & assist participants modify their practice accordingly, organize the classroom before/during/after class to ensure consistent safety and comfort, become familiar with the expectations held by class participants, colleagues and managers.
Apprenticeship (cost $240)
This role is designed for those hoping to teach classes professionally. If you are a recent graduate of a 200-hour Teacher Training and have limited experience teaching a public group class in a yoga studio setting, it is necessary to practice teaching (in this setting) and to receive constructive feedback, prior to substituting classes without supervision. Teaching a public class is different than teaching peers during Teacher Training. This Teaching Assistant role is designed for those hoping to teach classes professionally. Under the supervision of the studio owner, Sarah, you will teach 4 Community Classes. Additionally, you will assist Sarah during 4 of her scheduled classes. Sarah will offer detailed feedback after each session. This experience offers the following: develop confidence when public speaking, learn to anticipate the unexpected, and learn to manage your classroom with poise. Please arrange to take a class taught by Sarah before applying for this role.
